How accessible is the school environment?

Atherton St George’s is fully wheelchair accessible, with ramps allowing easy access in and out of the building.

Our facilities include:

  • A hygiene room with shower facilities in Nursery
  • A dedicated changing facility in the main school building

Where a child requires additional support in the event of an emergency evacuation, a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) is created. These plans clearly outline the support required and are reviewed at least annually.

If specialist equipment or facilities are required as part of a child’s support plan, we work closely with families and external agencies, including Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services. This ensures:

  • Appropriate equipment is identified and provided
  • Staff are trained in its safe and effective use
  • Children are fully included in all aspects of school life

At Atherton St George’s, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every child can succeed.
